Cross of Greed
Such powerful symbol, the cross. It can represent sacrifice, humanity or in this case stupidity (mine) and greed (Loughborough Car Sales). I bought an old Mercedes from this company, 120 miles away, sight unseen, on the premise that large car supermarket places would be trustworthy and all that old dodgy second hand car stuff was a thing of the past.
Wrong. I was completely tucked up. After finding out from Trading Standards that there was no point in chasing this firm as they were ignoring all legal representation - and it wasn’t a case of whether they would strategically go bust but when - I decided to put the car on Ebay to try and warn as many other would be car buyers as possible.

Or simply type in Awful Mercedes into Google. I’ve added any messages to the sale description as they’ve come in. They range from people who think I’m being punished for past life mistakes to those who have actually visited Loughborough Car Sales in order to beat up the chief salesman after being sold a pup themselves. It’s a funny old world and no mistake.
Postscript: Car eventually sold for £1120, quite a bit more than I thought it would make/was worth to a pleasant Polish amateur mechanic who wants to fix it up as a birthday present for his fathers 68th birthday. Where do they both live?
Loughborough. And they and the transporter driver all know how awful Loughborough Car Sales is. Sigh. That’s the advantage of local knowledge.
You can still visit the Ebay sale, even though it’s over, till around mid-October.
